Bohol is the finest example of a “Fiesta Island”, which celebrates the annual
Sandugo Festival from July 1 to 22, aside from month-long fiesta celebrations
every May. The “Sandugo”, which literally means “One Blood”, was a covenant of
friendship via a blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Captain General Miguel
Lopez de Legaspi in 1565.
Tagbilaran City, being the province’s gateway and service center to it’s tourism
industry, has maintained the increased tourist arrivals due to the improved peace
and order. |
