Population by Sex and Age
Tagbilaran City's population is relatively young. About 64.43
percent are under 30 years of age while the middle-aged population
(30 years to 59 years) accounts for 28.9 percent. The aged
(60 years and over) are only about 6.6 percent.
Further, disaggregating the younger population reveals that
the children ages 1 year to 9 years accounts for 21 percent
while the infants at ages below 1 year represents 2.2 percent.
On the whole, the male-female ratio is almost 1 to 1 with
96 males per 100 females. Male dominance is observable in
the ages 9 years and below while the females are dominant
at ages 10 years old and over.
The age-sex composition of the city's population shows a symmetrical
pattern from age 19 years and lower. If this is any indication,
it tells us that 20 years or so ago there was a sharp rise
in the city's population. |
