Labor Force
The City of Tagbilaran has a potential labor force (from 15–65
yrs. old) of 45,537 or 61.27% of the city’s population of
74,318 (1995 data). Of the potential labor force only 29,267
or 64.27% are active while about 16,270 or 35.73% are non-active,
comprised mostly of schooling students mostly in the secondary
and tertiary levels and the disabled/incapacitated segment
of the population.
On the other hand the dependent segment of the population,
belonging to the ages 14 years and below, and over 65 years,
is 28,781 or 38.73% of the potential labor. This give an almost
1 is to 1 ratio between the dependent and active labor force. |
