Functions |
| 1. |
Formulate program implementation guidelines and
rules and regulations for the operation of said office for the approval of the
city mayor in order to assist him in the efficient, effective and economical implementation
of health related project and activities; |
| 2. |
Formulate measures for the consideration of the
Sanggunian and provided technical assistance and support to the mayor in carrying
out activities to ensure the delivery of basic service and provision of adequate
facilities relative to health and basic services provided under Section 17 of
Local Government Code of 1991; |
| 3. |
Develop plans and strategies related to health and
upon approval thereof by the city mayor and implement the same; |
| 4. |
Formulate and implement policies, plans, programs
and projects to promote the health of the people in the city; |
| 5. |
Advise the mayor and the Sanggunian on matters peetaining
to health |
| 6. |
Execute and enforce all laws, ordinances and regulations
relating to public health; |
| 7. |
Recommend to the Sanggunian, through the local health
board, the passage of such ordinances as they may deem necessary for the preservation
of public health; |
| 8. |
Recommend the prosecution of any violation of sanitary
laws, ordinances or regulations; |
| 9. |
Direct the sanitary inspection of all business establishment
selling food items or providing accommodation such as hotels, motels, lodging
houses, pension houses, and the like in accordance with the Sanitation Code; |
| 10. |
Conduct health information campaigns and render
intelligence services; |
| 11. |
Be in the front-line of health service delivery,
particularly during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disaster and
calamities. |
