Tagbilaran City has new SWAT



Photo shows the 14 Special Weapons Action Team (SWAT) members during their courtesy call with City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap. This elite group was trained in anti-insurgency, anti-terrorism, hostage crisis and basic bomb / explosives by military experts from the 6th Battallion Special Action Force from Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, Metro Manila. Mayor Yap provided a financial counterpart for their training worth Php206, 000.00 and provided gears such as cap, ammunition, tactical gloves and holsters. The 14 SWAT-trained gentlemen will also receive an allowance from the City Government. According to City PNP Chief Nicomedes Olaivar, the SWAT-trained gentlemen underwent a rigid selection process and have been subjected to a 2-month intensive training just to be able to protect and to serve the Tagbilaranons.
