Mayor Yap’s all-out support for Bohol Negosyo Center

Making Tagbilaran City business-friendly was one of the centerpiece programs of City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap. Evidently, within the City Mayor’s first term, the local income has already increased and has exponentially grown. From July 2013-June 2015, the City generated a total income of Php567,746,563.66 as against the income in July 2011 to June 2013 with only Php364,585,706.06. The additional revenue of Php202, 960,857.60 was utilized for programs on education, road infrastructure, drainage and social services.

Thus, Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino’s battlecry of revitalizing business entities in the Philippines resounds strongly in Tagbilaran. The youngest senator of the Philippines who chairs the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship and Committee on Youth, led the ribbon-cutting and blessing of the Bohol Negosyo Center (BNC) last Friday, together with Provincial Governor Edgar M. Chatto, DTI Regional Director Asteria Caberte, DTI Provincial Director Nanette Arbon and Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap . Senator Bam Aquino, who authored RA 10644 which seeks to strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to create more job opportunities in the country paved the way for the establishments of Negosyo Centers all over the country, was also the keynote speaker during the BNC launch held in the Governor’s Mansion.

The Bohol Negosyo Center (BNC) is a one-stop shop for services which would cater to the entrepreneurs’ need in processing requirements necessary to establish a business and in accessing information essential for their growth and development.
