Mayor Yap gives all-out support to the graduates


City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap graced the Closing Exercises of the Tagbilaran City Central Elementary School (TCCES), Manga and Mansasa National High Schools. All with the theme, “”Sabay-Sabay na Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan.” The Local Chief Executive reminded the students to value the hardwork and sacrifices shown by their parents thru diligent studying and saying NO to vices. “Education is not a guarantee that you will have a bright future, but having a solid academic foundation can prepare you to meet the challenges of the future.” The City Mayor committed to deliver the needs of the schools, especially with the availability of finances through the Special Education Fund (SEF).

The SEF which is exponentially increasing due to the increased local income of Tagbilaran City has already seen the completion of a 2-storey, 4 classroom building in Dao Elementary School, single storey, 2 classroom building in San Isidro High School, single storey, one classroom in Cabawan Elementary School, covered court in Tagbilaran City Science High School, single storey, two classroom in Dampas Elementary School, single storey, one classroom in Booy Elementary School, one-storey, two classroom building in Cogon Night High School and one-storey Food Processing Center in Manga National High School. The Tagbilaran City College, which is soon to start construction, is another testament of Mayor Yap’s commitment to advance the educational status in the City. It will provide free quality education to indigent but academically excellent students.
