Quality Health Care Within Your Reach
To say that the City Government of Tagbilaran is intentional in keeping their residents healthy is quite an understatement, the truth is: they’re deadly serious!
After the successful launching and implementation of the Blue Card Program, Mayor Dan Neri Lim together with Dr. Porticos of the City Health Office put in place the Purok Health Workers.
It’s like having a caregiver right inside your neighborhood. Dr. Porticos said that they have assigned at least two health workers in an area with 50 households. This means that each health worker should visit 25 household and check up on their health needs every now and then. These Purok Health Workers are provided with a digital thermometer, spygmamometer and some basic first aid tools. They were trained to conduct basic medical interventions.
According to Dr. Porticos, this system will greatly help their office to monitor the needs of each Tagbilaran constituents. The health worker can readily refer the people to the services offered by the City Health Office.
A classic example would be urging the people to subject their children to free immunizations or to avail supplements from Botika sa Katawhan. Dr. Porticos is hopeful that this project would increase the City Health Office effectivity to 90%.
