Mission Accomplished!
When Mayor Dan Neri Lim assumed office last 2004, only 15% of the roads in Tagbilaran City were in good working condition. Majority of the city roads were rocky and dilapidated. According to City Engineer Pianicita Castolo, the city roads have been untouched for almost thirty years. Thus the improvement and rehabilitation of these city roads started as soon as Mayor Dan Lim took office. Almost 68 million pesos were spent for the improvement, rehabilitation and maintenance of these city roads which started last 2004.
Last year, the City Engineering office also started the Installation of Street Lighting Facilities in most barangays in Tagbilaran City. Portions of Bool, Manga, Gallares, Tiptip, Mansasa, Ubujan, Cogon, Dau, Booy, Dampas, San Isidro, Taloto, Cabawan, and Poblacion I, II and III have been installed with street lights.

just to let you all know how elated i am reading the magnanimous accomplishment of our current mayor Dan Neri Lim.He is indeed “one of a kind” & I believe he is God directed in everything he does for the betterment of the city and its people.for the short span of time he is in Office he fixes our infrastructure and lives & education of the Tagbilaranos that no mayor or governor before him had the resilience and determination like Dan Lim.I am so proud to have him as our mayor and very Privelege knowing that inspite of his busy schedule he find time to attend & help personally to each and everyone’s issue to lighten the burden of someone’s lives & resolve whatever you requested him within his capabililty to have a positive outcome. At this note I am one of those many people who are indeed very happy & grateful for our Mayor’s profound empathy & compassion to act for the betterment of the underdogs so to speak. I approached Mayor Lim way back in 2006 with tears in my eyes pleading for his kind support to removed the ‘Monstrous Industrial Antenna” in the middle of our Bolok-Bolok Spring infront of our ancestral home at Burgos St. The reason of which after 25 years of not coming to Tagbilaran of which as a young professional making a name for oneself in the field of my expertise, being a wife & mother it is too much to cope without any help like in our dear country & that to come home to my beloved Tagbilaran was a very big effort & sacrifice for our home budget. Then when the children are big enough I made a big move to travel to our home island way back in 1997. what a sight to see! I told my brother to stop infront of the Agora mercado that are badly burnt & it is so filthy as if no one care, then to our home site, the monstrous Antenna in the middle of the Sea! I indeed wept with a pragmatic dismay and feeling of hopelessness, hate, deep resentment to the controlling body of the city of Tagbilaran at that time. it was a blatant rape, yes rape to my beloved city., someone who was so brazen and sure of themselves connived to erect the “edifice of Selfishness, blatant disregard to the environment but most especially to the people of Tagbilaran. As children till my college days, when I spent the vacation with my dear family, Bolok-Bolok was our playground, supplier sometimes of our daily “Sud-an” kay manginhas man mi as children ,that was our paradise with our childhood friends and my 5 sisters and 2 brothers& lots of cousins. I was told then till 2007 that few people were electrocuted, no more homecoming voice of the early fishermens & laughter of frolicking children enjoying their sea bath as if the whole Sea is dead, and the people living around the place were all in mourning. I approaced Mayor Dan Lim wayback 2006 with tears in my eyes pleading with his kind heart to “Please Remove the Antenna” and even text him from the Gold Coast,Australia to remind him to be strong in making a stand against the Arrogant entities in culminating its erection to a profound negative impacts to the daily lives of Tagbilaranos who defend their livelihood, and country lifestyles of washing their clothes, bathing, and playing in the water. all these were stolen from us and also told him that I really cried seeing the old Mercado in its horrible condition, these and all others Dan Lim Stand Strong confident infront of his critics with One Focus Only to Restore & Redeem our heritage to be a “Proud Patriotic Tagbilaranos”. Hay, we can all breathe with happy relief that our City is “Naguapa ug samot” before it will took us 2 hours drive to Loay where my Mum is, kay busloton and karsada kanunay maaberya intawon ang sakyanan sa akopng brother karon sutoy lang kadali within 30 minutes abot na mi sa Loay kay guapo na and karsada, karon lami na ang atong panan-aw sa Old Merado(Agora) namasiyo ug nag shopping nako didto ug manga electical appliances, humot na siya ug guapa na pod ug very proud nako nga mang invite sa akong fellow Australian Rotarian nga movisita dinhe sa Bohol ug mo stay sa among balay kay porbida Doy ug Inday kapiskay na ug View ang akong Building kay wa na ang ka Pangit nga Antenna, mo sayo nako mobakod manga 5 am aron makit an kaayo naho ang manga fisherman with their cute light sa ilang cute pod nga baruto (Bless their hearts)kay clear naman and view sa panan aw sa dagat sa BolokBolok spring ba. Ha! Ha! Heh! Heh! kay Ngano??? WANA DIHA ANG ANTENNA SA DYRD BA TO??? wHY GANI TUNGOD SA Magnanimous & GODLY EFFORT NI MAYOR DAN LIM !!! Hurray more good health, wisdom, confidence ,prosperity ug peace of mind + harmony, niya ug may he reign for more terms as the first and Only Mayor that tackle the negative issue of our City with the support of his team = to make the long awaiting dream of our City & Tagbilaranos come true into reality whereby you can physically see touch enjoy all his efforts. More kudos to our Mayor & his team and expand their territories and boundaries and God’s fills our Tagbilaran and whole Bohol’s needs and heart desires in Jesus Christ name thru the Awesome power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. God Bless Us ALl Tagbilaranos & Boholanos. Cheers, Nimfa Sarmiento Simson
