City Government of Tagbilaran

The UP Open University’s staff and officials will visit Tagbilaran City to promote the UPOU’s advocacy on distance education learning. Vice Chancellor Dr. Maria Fe V. Mendoza together with Dr. Primo Garcia, Director of the UPOU’s Information Office will conduct an orientation to interested parties at the Sandugo Session Hall on January 20. The group is also scheduled to grace Mayor Dan Lim’s radio program in DYTR to further discuss their advocacy of providing wider access to quality higher education.

THE buzzle of activity could have subsided as the government caravan of more than 30 vehicles departed for another kick-off activity last May 23. Not here at Ubujan Elementary School in Tagbilaran City, 2009 and 2010 National winner for the Best Brigada Eskwela Implementer for small schools category. Here was the site of the early morning regional kick off activity for Bohol’s 2011 Brigada Eskwela, a national schools’ maintenance program that fits into a week-long flurry of voluntary repairs, beautifications and clean-up activities by parents to prepare the schools for the opening of classes the following week.

Dr. Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence (MI) will be featured in a book for the “Go Negosyo” movement.
The book entitled “8 Simple Secrets of Raising Entrepreneurs” is written by Mary Joy Canon-Abaquin, founder and directress of the Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) who is also a Go Negosyo “angelpreneur” (mentor).
